SF Deltas offer Raider Nation a ticket to the ‘other’ football

It’s been a bad week for Bay Area Raiders fans, with the NFL approving the team’s move to Las Vegas. Many vowed online to never support the team again. One fan even threatening to burn all his Raiders gear.

Hoping to attract disaffected Raiders fans looking for a new Bay Area team to support, the San Francisco Deltas, a new pro soccer team, have offered Raider Nation fans discounted tickets to their next home game at Kezar Stadium in Golden Gate Park this Saturday.

“To honor Raider Nation’s deep Bay Area roots we’re offering a one-time, exclusive $15 ticket to our game against North Carolina FC which will give you access to any seat in the house (excluding VIP) while supplies last,” the Deltas wrote on their blog.

The team will donate a third of all ticket sales to Marshawn Lynch’s Fam 1st Family Foundation which benefits children living in Oakland.

The Raiders played the team’s first four home games ever in 1960 at Kezar Stadium. They then played the remainder of the season and 1961 season at Candlestick Park in San Francisco before moving to Oakland’s Frank Youell Field in Oakland in 1962. The Raiders called the brand new Oakland Coliseum home starting in 1966.

The Deltas play in the NASL, the second division of professional soccer in the United States. The team has found it difficult to get attention in the crowded Bay Area sports market for its initial campaign. They did have a successful home opener on March 25th attracting over 4,100 fans to Kezar for a 1-1 draw against Indy Eleven.

The $15 dollar tickets can be purchased on the SF Deltas website using the promo code RAIDERNATION .
