SF Deltas send Szetela back to Cosmos; release pre-season schedule

The Deltas have one less player for their pre-season camp after the New York Cosmos announced that they have reacquired the midfielder from San Francisco.

Szetela signed last month with the Deltas after the New York Cosmos had released all of its players and looked certain to fold. However, the team was bought by Rocco B. Commisso earlier this month, and the Cosmos have aggressively resigned many players.

“Danny signed an agreement with us when his original club’s future was not clear,” said Deltas Head Coach Marc Dos Santos. “Things have changed, and Danny expressed his desire to return to New York. We want to make sure that all players playing for us are totally committed to this project. We wish him well.”

The deal involved a transfer fee paid to the Deltas.
