W League – SF Glens defeat Marin FC Sirens, Olympic Club

The San Francisco Glens continued their dominant start to the inaugural W League campaign with a 3-0 victory over Marin FC Sirens last Friday before dismantling the Olympic Club 6-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Last Friday, after a scoreless first half in windy conditions at Skyline College, the Glens earned the victory behind three goals from Nádia Gomes in the 49th minute, Elle Piper in the 57th minute, and Miri O’Donnell in the 70th minute.

On Sunday, the Glens found themselves in an unfamiliar position when the Olympic Club’s Emily Mosbacher gave the visitors an early lead nine minutes into the game.

However, the Glens responded quickly to the deficit with three goals within thirteen minutes.

Goals from Peyton Marcisz in the 27th and 40th minutes were sandwiched around an Amy Sayer strike in the 33rd minute to take a commanding lead.

Late in the second half Camryn Penn, Maia Beltran, and Vanessa Aguilar scored for the final 6-1 scoreline.

With their unbeaten start to the season, the Glens have been ranked the top side in the USL W-League power rankings.
