It wasn’t a win, but Bay Cities FC showed they belonged in the National Independent Soccer Association with a 0-0 draw on the road against LA Force.

In the fourth minute, the visitors started aggressively at Garey Stadium in Pamona, with Adolfo Trujillo taking the first shot on target for Bay Cities FC. LA goalkeeper Brandon Gomez easily saved it.

LA began to take the game to Bay Cities, who seemed content to soak up the attack and attempt to counter. Force had several chances on goal but none seriously troubled Bay Cities’ keeper Ian McGrane.

Second Half

Bay Cities’ best scoring chance happened in the 54th minute when winger Rei Dorwart was able to cut inside and from just above the penalty box unleashing a wicked shot that LA goalkeeper Brandon Gomez had to stretch out and deflect out of bounds.

Minutes later, LA Force had a golden opportunity to take the lead when Samuel Goni Villara got behind the Bay Cities’ defense, but his shot from out wide just missed the far post.

Earning a point in their first-ever league match was quite an accomplishment for Bay Cities. They continue on the road next Saturday against Cal United Strikers.
